Last Sunday I had friends in from out of town. One of these friends had grown-up in the area but wasn’t familiar with the Seneca presence in Victor. The Native American dance and music Festival was going on at Ganondagan, so we decided to stop over and have a look at what was going on.
Last weekend July 10-12 was the annual event known as the Stuart horse trials. This is an annual event that takes place just south of Victor. Competitors come in from all across our state, neighboring states, and even Canada. Competitors can compete at various levels from the beginner novice all the way up to CIC2. The CIC is part of the qualification system for writers that wish to compete in such events as the Olympics, Pan-American games, and world equestrian games. The CIC qualification draws international competitors.
The Victor Town/Village Planning Boards met on Tuesday September 23rd. On the docket was a new site plan for the Gullace Project. It has been revised yet again from that proposed in May of this Year.
Replacing the apartments are now townhomes. 72 units arranged in clusters of 2,3 or 4. These will now be for sale…

Some have reached full size and are starting the transformation into their final stage before becoming Butterflies.
Like the swallows returning to Capistrano, each year in July and August, the Monarch Butterflies return to Victor and the surrounding areas.
The drought in the Midwest in 2012 and the freeze in their Wintering Grounds in Mexico has decimated the population. It is more important than ever to help them recover from the set-backs of the environmental pressures.
